June Musings

Good morning, fellow imaginers, and welcome to your weekend edition of YJBLiterary! Man, it has been a while, but I have returned! It’s been a hectic past few weeks for me, but I have managed to survive the month of May…only to be grinding away for June. Such is life. There’s a lot to catch up on with past, present, and future news so let’s dive right in!

To start off with, the audiobook for Metamorphs 2 has been approved (finally)! Honestly, the process was like pulling teeth. I’m not sure why ACX gave me such a difficult time with this one as opposed to last, but I suppose this means they’re raising the bar to make sure only quality products go through, which is a great thing. The audiobook should be released within the month, so I will definitely keep you all informed on its progress!

WIth the manuscript being complete, I am now in the editing process for Metamorphs 3. I’ve yet to decide on a title, but that’s nothing new to me. I usually don’t have the title until the edits are nearly complete. I like to let it come to me as I go along rather than force the issue. The process has been a little slow, but I have to say, it’s been surprisingly enjoyable. I’m hoping to have the book released in July, so I’ve got plenty of time, and I’m making sure everything is squeaky clean before sending it off to my editor. This was the first book I’ve written through dictation, and while the editing can be brutal at points, the end result was a lot better than I initially thought. I really think people are going to enjoy this follow-up!

Lastly, On June 15th, I will be hosting an author presentation/interview at the Durham South library, where my books are currently in their system! It will be the official kick-off of the Kid’s Summer Reading Program, and they wanted me to help them hit the ground running. The talk will be at 3:00PM, and I will be doing a presentation, Q&A, book selling/signing, and giving out cool Metamorph merchandise! If you’re in the area, come check it out!

Well, that’s all I’ve got you you this week! Be sure to sign up for the Academy newsletter to join the reading group for exclusive content and free prizes! Until next time, keep imagining!
